A true and honest gift in his life, it's near difficult to recall a time where Riku didn't have his digital friend with him by his side. Their daily routine and Data's constant companionship had turned into the new norm, something he was grateful for, ever since Sora's disappearance.

Gentle (and not so gentle) reminders and constant monitoring ensure that Riku remains fit and healthy, even when all he wants to do is run himself ragged. Like a true and good friend, Data refuses to allow that to happen.

Trusted and adored, Data has become one of his best friends with whom he can be open with and divulge in personal secrets. Who else could he truly turn to nowadays, than his Baby Byte and Little Bit?

The level of comfort he feels with Data is astonishing, to say the least. One could argue that, perhaps, he's finally found that brotherly instinct hiding away within him, thanks to the other.

Childhood best friend and source of inspiration, there isn't anything Riku could say about Sora that hasn't already been spun in sugar, thoroughly, and spoken through dripping honey. There's little hesitance when it comes to saying all good things about the brunet, a mushiness that he can only blame the other for rubbing off on him.

Difficult as it is to open up and speak his mind more, Sora's encouragement and determined support is helping him get better at it, day by day. With every new adventure by the other's side, every moment in which Sora's unyielding friendship covers him securely, Riku finds himself gradually healing from matters he hadn't even realized he needed to.

Deeper feelings aside, there isn't anything Riku wouldn't do for his best friend, no matter the situation.

Sora remains as his promise, through and through.
